Tim & Vicki Reiner In A Far Place

I often wonder if attendance will be up or down in our new church plant, and
if I will be satisfied or disappointed (a selfish swing of emotions that still
plagues me from time to time). Constantly, I remind myself that missions is
not about going to church, it’s about becoming the church.
Our responsibility is to expose people to the Gospel of Jesus; His Spirit
draws them into His Body as His Bride. Of course, church participation is
important for this is where hearts grow and minds mature, yet church
attendance is to be the result of something far greater.
Our mission is to plant, water, and weed. Christ’s mission is to sprout, grow,
and prune. The harvest is His, completely His; He bought it and sustains it.
In reading fellow missionaries’ work reports and letters, we delight in the
variety of Gospel presentations to the spiritually needy and then how they
are taught Scripture. We feel privileged to live in the field with others who
also plant the seed, water with Life, pray for growth and hope for a plentiful
harvest. Through prudent application of resources from God through you,
our “farm life” continues through the seasons. Thank you for
encouragement, prayer, and funds from afar.
Grace then Peace,
Tim Reiner
MISSIONS IS NOT ABOUT GOING TO CHURCH
IT’S ABOUT BECOMING THE CHURCH

Thank you for praying
for these, for us, and
for others that we
mention in our email
updates. Each one,
along with their
families, asked us to
express gratitude to
you for your prayers
on their behalf. Praise
the LORD for the safe
delivery and improved
health of baby Esdras
and his mother, Marli
(first photo). Also, for
baby Hadassah, and
her mother, Carina
(center). Senhor
Arlindo´s lung cancer
is in remission (last).
Vicki’s parents, Jack
and Betty Dixon, are
presently doing well.
Mom continues in the
nursing facility; Dad is
at home and has
been able to
decrease his pain
medication. The
needed ramp and
sidewalks are
installed and painted.
Thank the LORD with
us that on September
1, they celebrated 61
years of marriage.
Once a month, Tim takes men from our congregation to piranha fish, including an unsaved friend or Christian from one of the other area churches. Conversation is around theology and the one that got away.

To thrill the teen boys in Tim’s SS class, as well as, to teach them basic driving skills, Tim uses James’s sprint racer, a father/son project when he was with us. The “race” ends with a Bible thought and snack.

Viva Com Cristo, 680 AM radio, is in its ninth year of straight talk from the Bible. An estimated 10,000 people listen in to the Sunday afternoon program.

Getting Acquainted with the Nationals

Rosângela Gomes da Cruz
Her favorite Scripture verse is John 3:
21 – “...he that doeth truth cometh to
the light, that his deeds may be made
manifest, that they are wrought in God.”
“I became a member eight years ago.
When I was 13 years old, Claudia and
Ruthie [our co-workers] lead me to the
LORD. It hasn’t been easy living in this
world. As a new Christian, whenever I
forgot my spiritual life, nothing I did
was good for me. It was just an illusion.
Whenever I became more and more
comfortable with my life, I felt that
touch from God who was calling to me.
When I paid attention, He gave me the
expensive gift of eternal life through
His Son, opening His Hands and
saying, Come, little one, come and
know that I love you. My life came to
this point and now I am satisfied in
God. My greatest desire now is to
trade this world for God. I am grateful
to no longer want what the world
offers. Today, I am joyful…”
